We specialise in instruction, teaching how to climb, so this is great if you have never rock climbed before or are still new to this exhilarating sport.

One day climbing at Takaka

If you've never climbed on natural rock this day is for you. We'll be top roping, climbing and abseiling, getting down can be more fun than getting up there in the first place. Top roping is the safest climbing technique and there are perfect anchors to abseil from. There are excellent hand and foot holds so those new to climbing can feel confident.

Climbs range from easy to extreme on this fully bolted sport climbing crag, which is one of New Zealand's best. Little or no natural protection required. At the height of summer climbing can be broken by a swim in the nearby Takaka River.

Both Takaka and Payne's are in the Golden Bay area close to the Abel Tasman National Park. So staying in the area means you are not only close to excellent climbing and tramping but also guaranteed some stunning scenery to look at while getting your breath back.

Also as they are fairly close to each other we can run combo climbs spending the morning at one and the afternoon at another.

Quality modern equipment is available to borrow or you can bring your own tried and trusted kit. All climbers, belayers and spectators wear helmets.

We specialise in custom made trips which sometimes include combinations of the above.

Prices based are per each person and based on a group size of four.

The 'Day Experiences' include lunch.
