For approximately thirty years I have been tramping, climbing and caving in New Zealand's South Island (the mainland). As a member of the New Zealand Alpine Club and tutor in navigation and survival, I am a strong advocate for personal safety and the protection of the environment.
I am a member of the New Zealand Alpine Club and past chairman of the Nelson / Marlborough section. I'm also President of the local caving group and an active member of Cave Search and Rescue. I tutor in bush and alpine navigation and teach survival techniques
I am considered to be a skilled and expert climber and have reached the summit of several significant peaks in New Zealand's Southern Alps, including multiple ascents of Mount Cook (Aoraki) and Mount Aspiring. As well as climbing I tramp, cave and canyon regularly, not only to maintain my fitness levels but because this is my passion.
Training is essential and our guides have undertaken St. Johns First Aid, Federated Mountain Clubs and Alpine Club training courses, among others, appropriate for leading people in New Zealand's wilderness.
In a blizzard, dangling from a rope or warm and safe in a back country hut, you need to have the confidence that your guide is knowledgeable, experienced and reliable.
Just the sort of guide you need to instill confidence and to lead your New Zealand adventure, whether that adventure be climbing one of New Zealand's tougher climbs or finding the peace and solitude beside a river less than an hour outside of Nelson.
If excitement and adventure in New Zealand's wilderness are your aims, then Live-life Experiences are the people to turn your aims into a memorable experience.
So don't put the moment off any longer, email us now and we will plan a Live-life Experience for you and your friends or let you know where we're going when you're in town. Click to email for your New Zealand tramping, climbing, abseiling, canyoning or caving trips.
