Tramping, New Zealand adventures in boots!

Tramping as it is called in New Zealand. Backpacking, hiking, hill walking or trekking might be terms you are more familiar with. Whatever you call it, New Zealand is a paradise just waiting for you to come and do it.

Sitting at your computer you might be inspired by images of New Zealand's Abel Tasman Coastal track and the Heaphy - but so is everyone else!

Live-life Experiences specialise in taking enthusiasts to those off-the-beaten-tracks places of outstanding natural beauty. Places that even the locals don't know about or go to too often. Let us take you there so you can enjoy the New Zealand that many other people never see.

days tramp nears hut

Tramps range in duration

from three hours, full day or multi-day. Most are based in the Nelson and wider Tasman regions to minimise transportation times. However, tramps to different locations can always be arranged or requested so please feel free to ask where we're planning to go when you will be in town, or tell us where you'd like us to take you.

Close to Nelson

we can wander along seldom used bush routes onto tussock covered tops, amazing outcrops of granite and isolated stream fed valleys. We'll see the local flora and fauna, great views of the surrounding mountain tops, plains below and the ocean.

Take the time if you can to experience some of the places further afield.

At the end of the day enjoy some peace and quiet or gather around and enjoy the company of fellow trampers.

Have a look around the camp area and see what plants, birds and animals might be found. Take a look at the map and see where you're going tomorrow or just relax, perhaps treating your feet to a dangle in a near by stream.

After a days tramping

Away from the noise, hustle & bustle, just pure peaceful nature.

On the longer multi-day tramps we discover many more of New Zealand's special places. Stunning views, rugged rocks, cascading waterfalls, beautiful bush & forest and ice-cold mountain tarns. Exhilarating for the brave. These walks gives you the chance to see some of New Zealand's wildlife, perhaps glimpse a thar, see the keas or hear the kiwis call. We'll experience nights under the stars or in back country huts.

why we tramp or hike

You will be expected to carry in a share of the food, your own drinks, snacks and possibly a tent. Transport from Nelson is included. Transport from elsewhere in the region by arrangement.

We carry out our rubbish leaving nothing behind but footprints.
